The Energy Transition Is Also an Infrastructure Story

Renewable generation matters, but grids, storage and transmission determine how quickly clean power can scale.

Climate policy is often discussed in terms of power sources, but the energy transition also depends on the infrastructure that connects generation to homes and businesses. Wind and solar capacity can grow rapidly while grid bottlenecks slow the delivery of that electricity.

Transmission lines, storage, flexible demand and modern grid management are therefore central to decarbonisation. These investments can be technically complex and may require long planning and permitting timelines.

The practical measure of progress is not only how much renewable capacity is installed, but how reliably low-carbon electricity can be delivered when and where it is needed.
